March 2007: With a Curves flyer from Tina I began my life at Curves. Weight was not a big issue but I needed to exercise and Tone. The steps up to the top floor of Market Place House are a great warm-up and the circuit is the perfect way to start my day. I have made many friends and shared joy, sorrow and laughter as I’ve worked out. A fun filled evening last December saw a Curves Basingstoke calendar produced with myself as ‘Miss May’. With encouragement from the friendly staff my fitness level is maintained and my line of celebration workout T-shirts is growing – with T-Shirt celebrating number 700 presented on my 70th Birthday and now with 1000 workouts well and truly completed. How I wish I’d known about Curves in Basingstoke before that chance flyer and chat – Thank you to Tina.

Curves Things: I keep my promise to myself to get to Curves at least 3 times a week – no matter what! Curves staff and other Curves members are always friendly and welcoming encouraging me to come and make sessions enjoyable Curves staff are always very professional and motivating. Other Curves members who have lost weight and achieved their goals are very inspiring – if they can do it so can I. Other Things: I try to eat proper meals at correct times – no skipping breakfast or eating my main meal too late. This was difficult to organise at times I eat low calorie healthy meals and have no snacks in between – except for Saturday evenings I had whatever I wanted. This was even more difficult to do! I emptied the house of tempting things and the family mutinied! I make sure I drink at least 4 pints of water/tea/low cal squash every day I have now lost over 4.5% Body Fat that can only be a Healthier ME...
